The Slang
"I Ship It" or "I ship them" is what you say when you really loooove a TV couple. Dating back to the days when The X-Files were just a TV series (OK, there was never a time when The X-Files were just anything...) those fans who were pro Mulder+Scully (Mully?) we're known as relationshippers. Since then, shippers and simply the words "I ship it" have crept into fandom vernacular, referring to all fave love connections across the board.
The Series
"I Ship It " also refers to the Streamy Award-winning musical webseries, written by Yulin Kuang. Originally a short film, "I Ship It" is a nerd rock musical adventure about Ella Spencer (Helen Highfield) and her post breakup saunter into an Indie-rock band with her roommate Tim (Riley Neldam) and two spunky interns, Denver & Sasha (Jacqui Calloway & Yasmine Al-Bustami) who all work for - obviously - an Indie mag.
Here's what happens when you make a rule about no interband dating, after you've started a post-breakup band with your best friend... who lives in your apt.
The Soundtrack
Now, obviously, an indie-rock musical series must have an indie-rock soundtrack. Written by Brian Grider and Kirstyn Hippe the "I Ship It" soundtrack is filled with creative personality. From shoe-gazey love songs to nerd rock pop songs this collection has something for everyone. My personal fave, I Know its You, by Brian is from EPO 4 (track 7).
