It makes me sad and nostalgic to say goodbye to George Michael.... I mean, no, we weren't family or even friends but he brought real and true talent into this world, evoked deep emotion and certainly left quite a legacy. I agree with Sir Elton John in his sentiments regarding Mr. Michael's passing:
"I am in deep shock," Elton John wrote on Instagram. "I have lost a beloved friend — the kindest, most generous soul and a brilliant artist. My heart goes out to his family and all of his fans."
And so, I humbly bid farewell to the dynamically talented George Michael, gone too soon... but appreciated greatly while he was here...
And even at his least popular, I loved his offerings.
It's true, "Cowboys and Angels" off George Michael's album Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 ('90) was the first and only single released by George Michael that never hit the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart. Never the less, it's my fave.
Its waltz time and heartfelt lyrics mixed with Michael's sweet voice and smooth delivery Swoons me right, what can I say...
RIP, Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou from East Finchley, London, England. You "Wham!"'d into our hearts from the start. You will be missed.
Love,
