Busking on Christmas Eve with Glen Hansard of The Frames on Dublin's Grafton Street has become a philanthropic tradition. While there was no sign of U2’s Bono this year, Irish musicians 🍀 Gavin James, The Coronas, Hozier and Damien Rice all stood and Swooned a few tunes to raise money and awareness for the champions of Dublin's homeless crisis The Peter McVerry Trust and The Dublin Simon Community.
While this year's busk was cut short due to over crowding, they still managed to squeeze in one of my faves by Celtic Punk band The Pogues called "Fairytale of New York".
And it's exactly right 🎯.
So in the words of Mr. Hansard "Tip your hats, dip into your pocket and be good" this holiday season... unless your in the Western Hemisphere, its dern cold out there and not everyone has a coat to wear or a bed to sleep in....
This one will keep you warm.
Love,
