Ever hear of a windshield wiper serenade? Me either, at least not until my ears welcomed "Be Still" off The Frays 2012 release, "Scars and Stories" (Epic) into my soul. Try this with your windshield wipers on half-tilt (as I melt into a puddle of #thefeels). They’re the perfect meloncholic metronome.
“Be Still” was sorta written by The Fray's vocalist Isaac Slade for his brother Micah, who couldn't sleep. "Sorta" because Slade recounts that he woke up with this song in his head... and merely just played it. Pure and simple in its composition, "Be Still" is dripping with honest love and unwavering support.
And its goooooood... like potato chip good. Can't listen to it just once. It also pairs well with a rainy day, a full heart, and a cozy sweater (that someone knitted just for you). Never has another song moved along so nicely with the windshield wipers... try it. Very satisfying.
