Dearest audiophiles, you've known me a short while but, long enough to remember that... I want a time machine to meet all my Jazz loves...
But recently, I was introduced to a new friend in Melody Gardot No need for time travel! She belongs to this current world.
Melody Gardot is a beautifully talented singer and musician. She sings and lives with such depth... I know we'd hit it off and connect in the here and now.
So Melody, if you're out there... let's be friends :).
From Ms. Gardot's musical background, to her views on life and choosing to overcome hardship, all the way down to her choice of tea over coffee (not a stalker! Just read the interview linked at the bottom) I feel connected to this soul swooner... Because I like to surround myself with this kind of zest for life.
After being involved in a horrible accident, where a car struck the bikeriding Ms. Gardot, she was faced with many medical interventions and rehab/recovery. It hasn't been all peaches and cream.
And it didn't stop her.
When it came to moving forward, she even recorded an album from her bed when getting up was impossible.
And it's gooooood.
So you can find our connection. If you read my home page introduction, you know that I'm a life long, passionate and soulful dancer who has MS...
I too choose my smile.
Choose to keep living and moving forward, solving problems and finding new ways of accomplishing goals as I go.
I have even found new ways to dance and feel passionate throughout life. Because, that's where life is it's sweetest. There is no true life without passion...
Both of us, my new best friend Melody and I, have made the choice to live and succeed everyday with as much grace as possible regardless of how our challenges effect us. And, being human, we can both admit that it's not all smiles and laughter... because that's not real. But those smiles and that laughter is always the well earned goal - because when you can choose happiness, you should. And we do.
So, without further ado, I am honored to introduce you to one of my new favorites Jazz singers of our time, Ms. Melody Gardot, singer and live-er extraordinaire.
Love always,
