So... have you seen La La Land yet? (One of my most recent conversation starters...)
Dreamed up and written by Damien Chazelle, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, La La Land is so swoony for many reasons. Most notably: one of its central characters, Sebastian (Gosling), is a swingin' yet struggling jazz pianist who's out to save jazz... I'm in!!!
Obviously, the soundtrack is delicious and full of songs that I wanna share with you folks (I just might) BUT first things first.
"City of Stars" composed by Justin_Hurwitz with lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. [4] is one of those pieces that your head and heart will (willingly) sing for days after you see this flick. Written from a hopeful yet melancholy place this salty and sweet theme is the caramel ribbon that we keep tasting throughout this bittersweet musical delight. It just makes sense.
NOW, enough words. Stop reading and start listening/feeling.
Yer welcome 😏 ,
This is it! The duet featuring Gosling and Stone, mmmmm yum. It's already being covered ad nauseum ... but who could blame 'em.
I have a "thing" for whistling so... here's the sweetest version with Gosling whist fully whistling... Swoon.
Props:
