Add, "Laying Under Dustin O'Halloran's Piano" to My Bucket List
I grew up surrounded by music. Between my Pop, a diagnosable musi-hollic, my older sister, Ariel, who played the piano, viola, violin and flute... and myself a dancer (who also plays a few instruments) there was always music playing somewhere... somehow, even in the silent moments.
We all shared the piano. While Ariel was always more advanced, we took turns playing and composing. When she played, I watched, danced and sometimes, would sit right next to it, hug the piano and feel the vibrations smoothly press against my small face and hands. The sound was incredibly intoxicating, and overwhelmed me in the most glorious way. The vibrations so palpable that it disoriented me... a sensation I would later identify as being high on sound.
Josh T. Pearson of band Lift to Experience, guitarist and Texan, who had been recording an album in Berlin, was givin the opportunity to work with Berlin-based pianist and Emmy Award winning composer, Dustin O'Halloran. It was during these sessions that he had a once in a lifetime opportunity to crawl under Mr. O'halloran's piano and let the waves of sound wash over him. As you can see... Josh-man doesn't want to leave his ambient nest.
I can only imagine... and I'm adding "Laying under Dustin O'halloran's Piano" to my bucket list.
Enjoy one of my favorite pieces, Opus 55. It will move you and coerce your inner beauty out of its winter-induced numbness. Feel it wash over you, with me, please.
We may not be under that beautiful piano... YET, but if you get the volume just right, and let it into your heart and soul... you'll feel those vibrations take hold and warm you from inside out.
Lets start to thaw.
Love Always,
