Seafret "Oceans"

Seafret (not Simon and Garfunkle!)

Seafret  amazes me.  Simple in its construction, its made up of (only) two very talented English blokes, singer Jack Sedman and guitarist Harry Draper.  They met at an open mic when they were 15... appreciated each other from afar... and have been playing nicely in the sandbox ever since.  While their studio album does feature percussion and other accouterments, they don't rely on the cacophony effect to fill the spaces in our hearts.  Somehow, Seafret are able to evoke rich, raw and very relatable emotion with a single guitar and one (very strong) voice.

I promise an accute case of The Feels when you listen to "Oceans" (below) off their debut album Tell Me It's Real which was released January 2016. [5]

Ashleigh Grady from www.clashmusic.com hits the nail on the head when describing "Oceans"  she says, "the skill and emotion behind the simple and sparse arrangements make the passion and feeling behind the lyrics really hit home." And boy do they.

This is the time of year for traveling... and while that usually means we are going towards our loved ones, it also means that we are leaving some behind.  Sometimes very far behind.... Oceans is how the ache of missing a loved one sounds.

I know what you're thinking and I agree friends - this one definitely #HurtsSoGood.

I couldn't choose a fave version.... sweet apples or delicious oranges.... I offer you two glorious versions.

All my love,
